Brief Introduction To

Neo-Vedanta

Swami Vivekananda and Sri Aurobindo were influential figures in popularizing Neo-Vedanta, a contemporary interpretation of the traditional Hindu Vedanta philosophy. It arose in the 19th century in reaction to the evolving world, aiming to make Vedanta more approachable and applicable to modern, worldwide ideals. Neo-Vedanta emphasizes a universalist approach, highlighting the underlying unity of all religions and spiritual paths.

Drawing from both Eastern and Western ideas, Neo-Vedanta promotes inclusivity, adaptability, and practicality in spiritual practice. It played a significant role in the Indian independence movement and contributed to shaping modern Hindu thought. With its focus on the self and the ultimate, unchangeable nature of reality, Neo-Vedanta continues to influence spiritual seekers around the world, promoting a harmonious blend of tradition and modernity.
